X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF)

X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) is non-destructive, fast and accurate method for rapid and precise analysis of up to 90 elements in nearly any solid sample. Advantages of this analytical technique are: easy and fast sample preparation, possibility to analyze the whole surface of a sample, just a segment or specific spots on its surface, wide dynamic range (from ppm levels to 100%). It is also possible to perform simple and rapid analysis of totally unknown samples through advanced standard-less analysis package - UniQuant. This method is applicable on broad range of samples: alloys, cements, polymers, plastics, soil, sediments, plant samples, etc.

ARLTM PERFORM’X Sequential X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Switzerland) is equipped with a 4.2 kW Rh X-ray tube. It is able to measure concentrations of all elements from C to Am. Instrument is equipped with set of crystals: AX03, AX09, AX16C, PET, Ge111, LiF200 and LiF220. For qualitative analysis, spectral recording and data management, instrument relies on Thermo ScientificTM OXSAS software.

Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)

Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), an Agilent 7890A gas chromatograph (column HP5-ms) coupled with an Agilent 5975C mass selective detector (70 eV, energy of ionizing electron issued in GC-MS system). This instrument is used for scan analysis of soluble organic matter of petroleum, sediment samples (coal, oil shale, river/lacustrine sediments) and organic pollutants in water and sediments.
